Jack: "Kate, I need you to stay here."

Kate: "What? No way! I'm coming with you."

Jack: "No, it's too dangerous. You can't come."

Kate: "Don't tell me what I can and can't do, Jack. I've been through too much to let you push me around now."

Jack: "I'm not trying to push you around, Kate. I'm just trying to keep you safe."

Kate: "Safe? How can anything be safe on this island?"

Jack: "It has to be. For all of us."

[Scene: The Orchid Station - Ben]

Ben: "John, you must understand. This is for the greater good."

Locke: "The greater good? You mean your own good, don't you, Ben?"

Ben: "Perhaps. But if we don't act now, everything we've worked for will be lost."

Locke: "And what exactly have we worked for, Ben? A lie? A deception?"

Ben: "It's not a lie, John. It's the truth. The truth that keeps people alive."

Locke: "Alive? Is that what you call this? We're prisoners here, Ben. Trapped in your little game."

Ben: "Game? This isn't a game, John. This is survival. And sometimes, survival means making difficult choices."

[Scene: The Beach - Sawyer]

Sawyer: "You think you're so high and mighty, don't you? Always playing the hero."

Jack: "That's not who I am, Sawyer."

Sawyer: "Sure it is. Deep down, you love it. Being the savior, the leader."

Jack: "Maybe I do. Maybe I want to make things right. Is that so wrong?"

Sawyer: "No, it's not wrong. It's just... naive. You can't fix everything, Jack. Sometimes, you just have to accept that."

[Scene: The Hydra Station - Juliet]

Juliet: "You know, for someone who claims to hate this place, you sure spend a lot of time here."

Sawyer: "What can I say? The view's better than my cell back at the barracks."

Juliet: "Funny. I was starting to think you liked it here."

Sawyer: "Liked it? I'd rather be anywhere else. But since I'm stuck, might as well enjoy the scenery."

Juliet: "Enjoying the scenery, huh? That's rich coming from you."

[Scene: The Orchid Station - Locke]

Locke: "Time to move on, Ben."

Ben: "Move on? Where? There's nowhere else to go."

Locke: "There's always somewhere else to go. We just have to find it."

Ben: "Find it? How? Do you even know where to look?"

Locke: "I don't know. But I believe we'll find it. Together."

Ben: "Together? You really think I'm going to help you after everything you've done?"

Locke: "Yes. Because deep down, you know this is the right thing to do."

[Scene: The Beach - Jack]

Jack: "We need to stick together. If we split up, we're all going to die."

Kate: "And if we stay together, we're just delaying the inevitable."

Jack: "Inevitable? What are you talking about?"

Kate: "This island... it's not done with us yet. Not by a long shot."

Jack: "Then we fight it. Together."

Kate: "Fight it? Or accept it?"

Jack: "Accept it? Are you saying you've given up?"

Kate: "No. But maybe... just maybe... we need to let go of our need to control everything."
