狐假虎威(A Tiger in Tow) 中考英语作文
Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a cunning fox and a fierce tiger. One day, while the fox was wandering through the woods, it stumbled upon a group of animals gathered together. These animals were trembling with fear because they had heard stories about a ferocious tiger that roamed the area.
The fox, being clever, noticed their panic and decided to take advantage of the situation. It approached the animals confidently and said, "Why do you all look so afraid? There is nothing to fear; I am here to protect you."
The animals, still frightened by tales of the tiger's strength, hesitated but dared not question the fox. The fox then had an idea. It turned around and called out loudly, "Tiger! Come quickly! We need your help!"
Moments later, the tiger appeared, its presence causing the animals to cower even more. The fox walked beside the tiger, pretending to be its companion. It strutted proudly, making it seem as though the tiger was under its command.
"Behold!" the fox announced to the other animals. "The tiger has come to keep us safe. From now on, we will live peacefully under his protection."
The animals, believing every word, were amazed by the fox's boldness. They thanked the fox for bringing them safety and praised the tiger for its generosity. However, the fox knew better. It was the tiger who was truly feared, and the fox was merely using this fear to its advantage.
From that day on, whenever the fox encountered danger, it would simply call for the tiger and use its reputation to scare away any threats. The animals never realized that the fox was the one pulling the strings.
This story teaches us an important lesson: Sometimes, people may rely on others' power or influence to achieve their goals without revealing their own weakness. While this can work temporarily, it is essential to remember that true strength comes from within.
