Step 1: Warm-up (热身)
- Greeting: Hello, boys and girls! How are you today?
- Sing a song: “The ABC Song” to review the alphabet.
- Play a game: Quick response. The teacher says a word like "book", students quickly point to their books.
Step 2: Presentation (新知呈现)
- Show pictures or real objects of classroom items one by one. For example:
- Teacher holds up a picture of a blackboard and asks: What’s this? It’s a blackboard. Repeat after me: blackboard.
- Continue with other items such as desks, chairs, windows, doors etc., following the same procedure.
- Introduce the sentence pattern: This is my...
- Point at the blackboard and say: This is my blackboard. Students repeat after the teacher.
- Do the same for other items in the classroom.
Step 3: Practice (操练)
- Group work: Divide students into groups of four. Each group will take turns describing one item in the classroom using the sentence pattern “This is my...”. Other members should guess what it is.
- Role-play: Assign roles among students. One student acts as a tour guide introducing the classroom while others listen carefully and ask questions if necessary.
Step 4: Production (输出)
