Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by lush green hills, there lived a mischievous young boy named Timmy. Timmy loved to play tricks on his neighbors, especially when they were busy working in their fields.
One sunny afternoon, while the villagers were hard at work tending to their crops, Timmy had an idea. He decided to have some fun and shouted as loud as he could, "Wolf! Wolf! Come quick, the wolf is here!"
The villagers, hearing the cry for help, immediately dropped what they were doing and rushed to the hilltop where Timmy stood. When they arrived, out of breath and ready to defend themselves, they found Timmy laughing uncontrollably.
"There is no wolf!" Timmy giggled, pointing at himself. The villagers sighed with relief but felt annoyed at the same time.
"Timmy, this isn't funny," said one of the older men sternly. "Next time, don't make such false alarms."
But Timmy didn't learn his lesson. Days later, when a real wolf appeared near the village, Timmy shouted again, "Wolf! Wolf! Help!"
This time, the villagers hesitated. They had been fooled once before and weren't sure if it was another trick. By the time they realized that this was no joke and hurried to the scene, the wolf had already eaten several of their sheep.
From that day on, Timmy learned the importance of honesty. He understood that lying could lead to serious consequences not only for others but also for himself. And so, the village returned to its peaceful life, with Timmy becoming more responsible and trustworthy.
Moral of the story: Always tell the truth, or people may not believe you when you really need their help.
